Dargle (Midlands) – Solitude Retreat Centre
Situated in the beautiful Dargle Valley, the Solitude Retreat Centre is located in a tranquil and natural part of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, with easy access to the Midlands Meander and Midmar Dam.
This is a happy place for big and little humans and pets, who may roam freely in the unfenced grasslands and forests of the property. Here, you can enjoy an escape from the sounds of traffic and television, and awaken to birdsong.
The thoughtfully equipped and stylishly decorated self-catering cottages each have an indoor fireplace, lounge and outdoor seating area with braai. The bedrooms have wall-mounted heaters and guests often comment on the delicious comfort of the beds. Three of the cottages overlook the small dam on the property, where you may enjoy fishing and free use of the rustic canoes.
Activities include, hiking, cycling, birdwatching, rowing in rowboats on the small dam, as well as easy access to the Midlands Meander.
PET POLICY: All dogs, cats, and caged birds are welcome all year round. Pets sleep inside; bring own pet beds, bedding and bowls. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture and pets must be free of ticks and fleas. Easy access to walks. PLEASE NOTE: the property and cottage are NOT fenced! Consideration must be given to resident dogs and wildlife. Pets stay FREE. Doggie Damages Deposit required: NONE.
